Robinson: Chesterfield fancy us

Karl Robinson claims Chesterfield want to play his side in the play-offs - because they are confident of beating MK Dons.

The Spireites have defeated the Dons three times this season - once in the league and twice in the FA Cup, when the second-round tie between the teams was ordered to be replayed after Chesterfield fielded an ineligible player. The Dons won the other league game at the Proact Stadium towards the beginning of the campaign. The two teams' paths could cross again in the play-offs, most likely in the semi-finals. However, Robinson has not given up on winning automatic promotion and he insists he does not care who his side has to play should they end up in the play-offs. But if it is Chesterfield, he will use those words as a motivating tool. "Some of their staff were telling me on Sunday night [at the Football League Awards ceremony in London] they want us in the play-offs because they think they can beat us," he said. "We're not worried by the play-offs. I want to go up, I don't care who I play. We'll take every challenge. "It's from someone on their board and it's not right. But you should say nothing and smile. But don't you worry, those words will go up on my dressing room wall if the opportunity comes around. "We'll see. We could still be dancing on the pitch on May 3 - we could also be dancing on the pitch against Chesterfield."
