Luke Chadwick has joined recently promoted League Two club Cambridge from on a permanent deal from MK Dons.

The former Manchester United midfielder joined the U's on loan from MK Dons in March and scored twice in 10 appearances as they clinched promotion back to the Football League. And after finishing his stay with Karl Robinson's men by mutual consent with a year to go on his contract the 33-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the side he supports. "I'm delighted to have signed for this great club," he told the club's official website. "To be part of a Cambridge Untied squad that's back in the Football League is something really special and I can't wait for the season to start." Director of football Jez George added: "We are delighted to have now signed Luke on a permanent contract. It has been refreshing that from the first moment we spoke last season, the discussion has only centred on his desire to play for Cambridge United rather than any financial considerations."
