Robbo hails players in defeat

Image: Karl Robinson: Upbeat despite defeat

Karl Robinson had no complaints with the dismissal of substitute Samni Odelusi which had Wolves the initiative in MK Dons' 1-0 defeat.

The match looked to be coasting towards a draw before Liam McAlinden headed in from an 81st-minute free-kick after Dons Odelusi received his second yellow card in two minutes. That sent the 8,943 travelling fans - who helped set a new stadium mark of 20,516 - into raptures and was enough to secure the three points. Odelusi, 20, was booked twice in the space of two minutes for repeat fouls on Scott Golbourne, having only appeared as a substitute just before the hour. "Samni got the ball, but when you go in to a challenge like that, you're asking questions of yourself," Robinson said. "He bottled it down the other end, so I can't argue with the decision. "I didn't think we deserved to lose, but we've been beaten by the best team in the league. "The fans have been tremendous. I want to personally thank them, building up to this game and during the game, the support was tremendous, especially at this difficult time for the club, when the squad is as thin on the ground as it is. "I'm proud of the football club. The fans were tremendous. Obviously we are a little short in certain areas. "We've ended up playing two completely different teams against Wolves, home and away and in both games, we fought all the way. "We do need a little more at the top end, but the players' hunger, fight and bravery was tremendous."
