Dougie Imrie looks poised for a move to England after Dundee United revealed they will not increase their offer for the Hamilton striker.
The Tangerines had been vying with Milton Keynes Dons for the 28-year-old, although they are not prepared to match the League One club's bid.
United boss Peter Houston has confirmed his move for the ex-Clyde and Inverness man, but he also insists he has other targets in mind.
The Tannadice boss remains intent on bolstering his attacking options and has now left the decision with Hamilton and Imrie.
Offer
"We made an offer for Dougie last week and that's as far as it goes," stated Houston.
"If someone else has bid more then they will get him because we won't be increasing our offer.
"We have other targets in case it does not materialise.
"I think Dougie would be keen to come here but it will be a decision for Hamilton and him.
"If we don't get him we will look elsewhere because we need a striker."
