Defender Lee Hodson has signed a three-year extension with Watford ahead of next season.
The 19-year-old right-back, who broke into the first team from the club's academy in 2009, has secured his future with the Hornets.
And the Northern Ireland international - despite suffering a season beset by injury and setbacks - admits he is relishing the prospect of playing newly-relegated clubs such as West Ham and Blackpool in the 2011/12 campaign.
Hodson said: "There's some big clubs that have come down and I can't wait for the new season to start.
"It's great to get the contract sorted so I can now concentrate on my football. I want to come back fit and start the new season flying.
"Watford is a great football club so to sign another three-year contract is fantastic.
"Right from the start of pre-season I want to impress the gaffer and try to get that right-back spot."
With 66 appearances in a Watford shirt so far, and scoring his first professional goal in April this year, the defender is looking forward to making an impact in Malky Mackay's team.
And fresh from competing at the Carling Nations Cup for Northern Ireland's senior squad, Hodson is eager to help the Hornets build on their 14th-placed finish.
