Midfielder looking forward to playing Championship football

Carl Baker has admitted it is a 'dream come true' to have joined Coventry City from Stockport County for an undisclosed fee. As revealed by skysports.com, the midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at the Ricoh Arena following an impressive first half of the season with Stockport. Baker was playing in the non-league ranks for Southport just three years ago and he is delighted to now have the chance to test himself at Championship level. "The past few months have been unbelievable to be fair and now I'm in the Championship it's like a dream come true," Baker told the club's official website. "I've thought about playing at this level for a few years and now I'm actually here is just fantastic. "Obviously I've not been here very long, but it's been unbelievable so far. The gaffer, the chairman and the lads have all been great, it's a fantastic stadium and I'm really looking forward to playing in it. "From the training ground facilities to the stadium I think Coventry City has everything you need to make yourself better as a player and when I got the chance to see it all there was no looking back for me." Coventry boss Chris Coleman added: "We are delighted to have landed Carl. "We have been looking at him for some time now and I know one or two others have also been tracking him. "He will be a very good addition to the squad along with those we have already made this transfer window."
