Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to sign Antony Kay on a two-year contract from League One rivals Tranmere Rovers.
Skysports.com revealed earlier this month that the Terriers had lined up a move to bring in the midfielder on a free transfer.
Kay was keen to explore Huddersfield's interest and was impressed by the vision of the club's manager Lee Clark and chairman-elect Dean Hoyle.
"The first I heard about a possible move came after Tranmere played Huddersfield at Prenton Park," Kay told the club's
official website. "I called my agent and told him to get on with it; to see what would come from it.
"Lee Clark phoned me up and everything was positive. We met up and it has all followed on from there.

"He didn't really need to sell the club to me, but when I met up with Lee and Dean you could see the desire they both have.
"They have a really firm idea of where they want to go - they want to take the club places and as a player that is what you want to hear. I want to be a part of a team that achieves those goals."
Terriers boss Clark is confident that the former Barnsley man will prove to be a valuable addition to his squad for next season.
Clark said: "We knew he would strengthen that position and we knew he would be a good acquisition for us.
"He is a strong, physical player and we have identified that we need that presence in the side - particularly away from home when you are not allowed to play your football all the time. Antony will certainly do that for us."
