Milton Keynes Dons winger Nicky Rizzo hopes his loan spell at Grimsby Town has not been ruined by injury.
Rizzo has returned to his parent club to receive treatment on a thigh injury suffered after just one game for Grimsby.
He was substituted in the 2-0 defeat to Chester City last week and is expected to be sidelined for a fortnight.
The attacker lamented the injury, but is aiming to go back to Blundell Park once he is fit again.
"I'm absolutely gutted," said Rizzo. "I did it before and that time I was out for a month.
"It's really frustrating because I'm only here for a month and I think I did okay in the first game.
"I've now been told that I can go home to Milton Keynes to recover. Hopefully, it is only a couple of weeks and I can come back."
Meanwhile, MK Dons have appealed against Izale McLeod's red card for violent conduct in Saturday's defeat at Hartlepool United.
