Barnsley caretaker manager Simon Davey says he has no interest in signing Swindon Town striker Christian Roberts.

The Wales international has been influential in helping The Robins to second in the League Two table this season, with reports that The Tykes may make a move for the goalscorer next month.

Davey, however, was surprised to be linked with the former Cardiff City, Exeter City and Bristol City hit-man, but denied suggesting that he will make a move for Roberts.

"I really do not know where that one has come from and Roberts is not a name we have mentioned at all," Davey told Barnsley's official website. "I think that has to be down to agents.

"But we are still looking and watching games almost every day to compile a list of targets and possibilities for the January window, whoever is in charge."

Barnsley, meanwhile, have recalled defender Rob Atkinson from his loan spell at Conference club Halifax Town.

Injury concerns over fellow defenders Paul Reid, Antony Kay and Bobby Hassell have prompted Davey to bring Atkinson back to Oakwell for the busy holiday fixture period.
