Milton Keynes Dons chief Martin Allen has confirmed that Izale McLeod will be allowed to leave the club.
The former Derby County striker is known to be a target for a number of clubs including the likes of Aston Villa, Birmingham and Wolves.
McLeod joined MK Dons in 2004 and has bagged 36 goals in his two seasons with the club.
Now a move in the coming weeks looks almost certain after Allen gave the green-light for him to move on.
"I have decided to give Izale McLeod the opportunity of a move to play at a higher level," Allen told the club's website.
"He is a very good player who has represented England at the Under-21 level and I will see if there are opportunities for him to further his career at this moment in time.
"I must make it perfectly clear Izale has not asked for a transfer himself.
"This is my decision and is based on media speculation regarding interest from other football clubs. If nothing happens, he will be a key member of my squad for the exciting season ahead."
Meanwhile, Allen also confirmed that Malvin Kamara and Nick McKoy will not be part of his plans next term.
"Following meetings and discussions with Malvin Kamara and Nick McKoy, I have decided not to offer Malvin a new contract for the coming season and Nick will be given a free transfer," he said.
