IT has been confirmed that Wimbledon striker David Connolly will miss the start of the new season.
The Republic of Ireland international limped out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Swindon Town and scans have now confirmed that Connolly will be out of action for two months.
"Following MRI scans and consultations with two surgeons, David has a grade two medial ligament tear," said Dons physio Steve Allen.
"He will be out of action for a period of approximately two months, but the injury isn't as bad as we had originally thought it might have been.
"After he saw the surgeon he was put into a knee brace and he'll be starting a vigorous rehabilitation programme designed to build the area around his knee."
Meanwhile, Dons manager Stuart Murdoch has denied that the club have made a move for Norway defender Ronny Johnsen.
"There is absolutely no truth in it whatsoever," he said.
"Johnsen has been linked with Molde in Norway, and our people know their people, so that is where this must have come from."
