The Heerenveen ace has found himself out of favour at the club this season and has made only one appearance all term.
Ebbinge is unhappy at his lack of first-team opportunities and is keen on getting regular action.
Dons boss Terry Burton is determined to have a closer look at the player, before deciding whether to make a permanent move for him.
Burton is committed to strengthening his squad, but a lack of funds could provide a stumbling block for any deal.
The 26-year-old has been told he can leave Heerenveen and Wimbledon could be ready to offer him a permanent deal if he impresses during his time at Selhurst Park.
Meanwhile, former Wimbledon assistant boss Lars Tjernas has set himself the goal of leading newly-promoted L'F Honefoss to the top of the Norwegian Premier League in three years.
Tjernas was assistant to Egil Olsen during his short time in charge of The Dons in 1998 and is determined to see L'F Honefoss challenging the top sides in Norway.
"The goals is to get L/F to the top of the First Division," said Tjernas. "They have never been there due to poor starts in the last two seasons."
