Hutchings gutted by defeat

Barnsley's assistant manager Chris Hutchings was unhappy at the manner of the goals his side conceded after they lost 3-0 to Swindon.

Second-half strikes from wing-back Nathan Byrne and substitutes Jake Reeves and Andy Williams stretched the Robins' unbeaten run to seven games in League One. The result leaves the struggling Reds in the relegation zone and without a win in five league games. Hutchings said: "It was very disappointing. I thought in the first-half we did okay and tried to nullify them getting it at the back and passing it, which is their game. "But in the second half, as soon as we conceded, we folded a little bit. "We were looking for characters and people to come forward and it didn't really happen for us. "We had a couple of chances, but we didn't take them and, at the end, we gave away some comical goals to be quite honest. "As soon as the (first) goal went in, that was the big difference. "We haven't stayed with runners and we're obviously very disappointed in the way we conceded those goals. "We've got to make sure when we do get chances, we take them and we're a lot tighter and don't give silly goals away like we did. "The way we conceded goals, that's what we're really annoyed about and it just wasn't good enough." Swindon manager Mark Cooper praised the efficiency of his side's performance at Oakwell. "I think if a team chooses to press like Barnsley did, it's very difficult to do it for 90 minutes, virtually impossible," Cooper said. "It's important you stay focussed, do the little things really well, stay professional, keep a clean sheet and then when it's time to stick the knife in, you make sure you do it. "I thought it was a professional display, first half it was difficult to be as we want to be because, full respect to Barnsley, their game-plan was to try and make us uncomfortable all over the pitch and press us, which they did. "We still had some good little situations in the first half, we could've scored, we kept them to minimum opportunities. "It's important that we try and keep some clean sheets and late on we had a couple of little wobbles again where there's a lack of concentration. "We get fed up of doing the things that have got us three-nil up and we have to eradicate those little errors quickly. "First half, I would say we were six (out of 10), second half, I would say eight."
