Swindon have signed midfielder Anton Rodgers on a one-year deal, subject to Football League approval.

The 21-year-old, son of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, has joined up with his new team-mates at their army training camp on the south coast following the expiry of his one-year contract with Oldham. "I know a few of the boys here and Luke (Williams) asked if I was interested and I was really keen," Rodgers told Swindon's official website "I'm from down the road in Reading so it was something I was interested in doing and I'm glad it's done now. "I started my professional career at Brighton, before moving to Oldham. I was up close with my family there with my dad at Liverpool. I just wanted to move closer back to home. "Thankfully Swindon were interested and it was something I could do." Rodgers, who made 14 appearances for Oldham last season, added: "I like to get on the ball, set the play up and play through the lines of midfield, nick a goal if I can. I just want to play as much as I can."
