Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio has completed the signing of Spanish winger Lander Gabilondo on a one-year deal.
Gabilondo emerged through the youth system at Real Sociedad before joining La Liga rivals Osasuna, for whom he played 159 games in the Spanish 2B Division. But the 24-year-old is now looking forward to the next step in his career with Swindon. "This is a very good opportunity for me at a very good club," he said. "I have played for a few clubs in Spain but moving to England is something I have wanted to do. "The last week or so of training with Swindon has been great. It's been tough but I am very happy to be a part of this club." He added: "I have pace and like to take players on in one-on-one situations. Hopefully I can help the team achieve their objectives this season."
