Swindon are lining up a move for Stockport defender Michael Rose, skysports.com understands.
Stockport are resigned to losing a number of their best players following their relegation from League One and Rose is expected to move on from Edgeley Park.
Rose spent the second half of last season on loan at Norwich but the Canaries decided against making the move permanent.
The news alerted a number of other clubs to his possible availability this summer and Swindon are thought to be leading the chase for the full-back's signature.
Robins boss Danny Wilson is keen to strengthen his left-back options and he is ready to make a move to bring Rose to the County Ground.
