Promotion-chasing side bolster squad

Blue Square Premier outfit Torquay have bolstered their promotion push by signing three players from league clubs. The Gulls, who are third in the table, have signed Swindon pair Steve Adams and Kaid Mohamed, as well as Roscoe D'Sane from Accrington Stanley. Midfielder Adams was due to be out-of-contract with Swindon in the summer and has signed on a two-and-a-half year deal. Striker Mohamed has joined on a month's loan, while fellow striker D'Sane has signed for the rest of the season for an undisclosed fee, with the option of extending his contract in the summer.

Massive signing

Welcoming the new signings, Torquay boss Paul Buckle said: "Steve is a massive signing for this club and we have also signed Roscoe D'Sane from Accrington. "The squad have been excellent so far this season but it never hurts to freshen things up - and that's what we are doing. "It's healthy to have competition for places." Torquay are currently sitting in third place in the Blue Square Premier, just six points from the automatic promotion place, with a game in hand.
