Robins register Sturrock

Swindon Town have brought in Blair Sturrock on a non-contract basis.

Swindon Town have bolstered their numbers after landing Blair Sturrock on a non-contract basis.

With the League Two outfit short of options, manager Paul Sturrock has registered his son in order to strengthen his squad.

The former Rochdale striker is currently lacking match fitness, but Sturrock is loath to throw a youth player in at the deep end before he is ready.

"We registered Blair through necessity although he is only 60 per cent fit," said Sturrock senior to the club's official website.

"We didn't have many other options. Jake Hyde, a youth team striker travelled to Walsall, but he is just a kid and still learning the game.

"It wouldn't have been fair to put him into such a situation. Hopefully we can get Blair fit and then see what he has to offer us here."
