STEVE MILDENHALL is leaving Swindon Town for Notts County, as The Magpies expect to announce three new signings next week.
With Darren Caskey also a target for County, the Meadow Lane outfit are busy planning for next season as Jocky Scott rebuilds his squad.
Mildenhall has agreed a contract that will reportedly double his salary, after the two clubs agreed a fee of £150,0000.
Incredibly, the 23-year-old only signed a new contract at The County Ground last week.
"This all started towards the end of last season when Steve Mildenhall's agent was actively touting his name around because he was out of contract in the summer," said Swindon chief executive Peter Rowe.
"At times, it caused us some embarrassment when we went to other clubs so we knew what was going on.
"We made Steve a very good offer and he accepted it. But I understand his agent was still in the marketplace and yesterday I received a call from Notts County asking whether Steve was still available.
"We have agreed a substantial fee with Notts County, which reflects Steve's age and experience, and there is also a substantial sell-on clause."
The Robins look set to strengthen their own squad by signing on Eric Sabin and Andrew Gurney.
