Striker set for loan away from Stadium of Light
Sky Sports understands Carlisle are lining up a loan swoop for Sunderland striker Jordan Cook.
Cook is highly regarded by the coaching staff at the Stadium of Light and he made three substitute appearances for the Black Cats last term.
The 21-year-old, who signed a new deal at the club last summer, has yet to feature for the first team this season and the club are considering loaning him out so that he can get some first-team experience under his belt.
Cook is expected to be included in Sunderland's squad for this weekend's trip to Chelsea, but he could be allowed to go out on loan after the game.
Carlisle have already signed Cook's Sunderland team-mate Liam Noble this month and they are hoping to bring Cook to Brunton Park.
