Relieved Walsall manager Dean Smith praised Alex Nicholls' persistence as the striker secured a 1-1 draw at Wycombe with a late goal.
The Chairboys looked to have taken all three points when Ben Strevens scored three minutes after coming off the bench in the second-half.
But the 31-year-old striker went from hero to villain when his loose pass was intercepted by Nicholls, who rounded goalkeeper Nikki Bull to grab a point for the Saddlers.
"It's a good point for us, especially as we had to come from behind. I don't think we deserved to lose, particularly as I felt we were in the ascendancy for the final 20 minutes," he said.
"You can't just score wonder goals all the time, and Alex took his chance when it came to him. He made a couple of opportunities for himself but the one that was given to him, he took.
"If we keep working hard on the training ground that elusive win will come again, I'm sure."
