Walsall will not require the services of trialist Matt Richards and have decided to allow the player to leave Banks's Stadium.
Midfielder Richards spent two weeks with the Saddlers, but has now returned to the Glenn Hoddle Football Academy.
"Matt is a nice lad. He came in and we had a good look at him, but he isn't what we need at this moment in time," said manager Dean Smith. "We wish him well for the future."
