Walsall manager Dean Smith has told new recruit Ryan Jarvis he must take his 'big chance' this season.
Jarvis arrived at the Saddlers last month after being released by Leyton Orient in the summer, and Smith believes he can revive his career at the Banks's Stadium.
Smith, who worked with Jarvis at Orient, said: "I still see things I'd like to work on with him and he knows this is a big chance for him - one he's got to take and he's got to score goals.
"His overall game is very good but what he hasn't been doing is scoring consistently over the years and that's something he has to improve on. I believe he can do it.
"He's a good all-round player but he's still in this league because he hasn't scored consistently enough.
"That's what he needs to do if he wants to go higher."
