Gray backs Mack to find form

Walsall winger Julian Gray has backed veteran striker Jon Macken to soon rediscover his touch in front of goal.

Despite the recent upturn in results for the Saddlers, Macken, 33, has not found the net in seven matches, bringing his total for the season to just four in 26 appearances. Gray, who recently ended his own barren spell by netting four times in his last four games having failed to score in his previous eight outings, is determined to do all he can to get the former Manchester City and Preston hitman back amongst the goals. He told the Express & Star: "Jonny works hard, he holds the ball up well, and I've said to him he will get his goal. "I will give him a tap-in - even if it comes off his bum it doesn't matter. Once he gets one the goals will start coming from him. "In the last home game I tried to set him up so I'm going to get him a tap-in soon, he's due a goal."
