Reuben Reid intends to make the most of his chance at Walsall and build on his man-of-the-match debut performance.
The 22-year-old sealed the Saddlers' first home win of the season with his 69th minute winner against Plymouth.
Now the striker, on loan from West Bromwich Albion after failing to establish himself at the Hawthorns, is focused on securing a first-team place.
"I'm happy that my debut went well," he told the club's official website. "It was nice to get three points against a good team and I was also quite pleased with my own performance.
"From my own personal point of view I need to get back into the swing of things.
I've not played as much as I would have liked over the past year.
"I am thankful to Walsall for giving me this opportunity and I just want to work hard and prove I am worthy of a place in the team."
