Five youth-team players secure professional contracts

Shrewsbury Town's highly-rated striker Tom Bradshaw is among five youth-team players to have signed professional contracts. Bradshaw, who was linked with West Ham United last week, enjoyed a memorable end to the season with Town's first team, grabbing a brace on his debut before finding the net again as he went on to make five substitute appearances and one start. Defender Danny Taylor and midfielder Jon Taylor have also featured in the club's League Two campaign this term, making five appearances between them. They join goalkeeper Hakan Duyan and defender Connor Goldson in making the step up to the professional ranks. Shrews chairman Roland Wycherley said: "This season we have offered first-year professional contracts to more youth-team players than ever before. "Tom Bradshaw, Danny Taylor, Jon Taylor and Hakan Duyan have graduated from our scholarship programme and Connor Goldson has been awarded a professional contract midway through his scholarship agreement. "This follows on from last season when Harry Hooman and Andre Gray were awarded first-year professional contracts. I am delighted with the progress of our youth system under the guidance of Dave Hughes and his team."
