Falkirk team-mate offers advice after United interest

Dean Holden has told team-mate Scott Arfield there is "no rush" for the Scotland U21 international to move away from Falkirk after reported interest from Manchester United. Arfield has caught the eye of a number of clubs since breaking into John Hughes' starting line-up at the start of the season. Despite the interest in the 19-year-old, Holden has warned the Bairns midfielder that he has plenty of time to consider his options before deciding on his future. "I don't think going anywhere at this stage of his career would do Scottie any favours," Holden told the Daily Record.

Great attitude

"I have played with guys in the past who have moved onto bigger clubs but become stale from playing reserve football. "I don't think Scottie should be in any rush to make a move. "Scottie has a great attitude and I know it's an old cliche but all he wants to do is play his football. "He is not interested in all the trappings that come with it. He will probably be embarrassed about it. "Playing first-team football has obviously helped him and the gaffer is willing to play boys if they are good enough - regardless of their age."
