Hartlepool midfielder Lewis Hawkins has signed a new deal to keep him at the League Two club for next season.

The 20-year-old, who has been on Pools' books for four years, was a regular for the reserves this season before making five substitute appearances during the final months of the campaign. "I'm over the moon to get a new contract sorted," Hawkins told Pools Player. "I've been working hard and I ended up getting a few substitute appearances last season so now I want to make sure I come back fit and hopefully play some more. "I thought I did well and made an impact in the games I came on and the manager said as much to me afterwards - but now he's asking for more from me and hopefully I can give it to him."
