Wolves face Walsall, Crewe at home

Wolves were drawn against Midlands rivals Walsall and holders Crewe take on Accrington in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

A number of interesting ties lie in wait, with Kenny Jackett's League One newcomers set to entertain Walsall in the pick of the Northern Section ties, while League Two Scunthorpe United welcome Sheffield United to Glanford Park. Reigning JPT champions Crewe Alexandra take on League Two Accrington Stanley at Alexandra Stadium. In the Southern Section, local rivals Bristol City and Bristol Rovers lock horns at Ashton Gate, while Portsmouth travel to Torquay United. Elsewhere, Gillingham welcome Leyton Orient to Priestfield Stadium and Cheltenham Town play host to Plymouth Argyle.
