Colin Cooper will start life as Hartlepool boss in League Two with a trip to Rochdale on August 3.

Cooper took charge after Hartlepool dropped down into the fourth tier under John Hughes following a disappointing season in League One and the former Middlesbrough defender's first home game will be against Southend on August 10.

Pools travel to Chesterfield on Boxing Day, Morecambe three days later and entertain Bury on New Year's Day.

Their season finishes at home to Exeter on May 3 after the long trip to Plymouth seven days earlier.
