Winger desperate for new signings

Hartlepool winger Andy Monkhouse has expressed his disappointment at the club's lack of signings this summer. Pools have survived relegation to League Two on the final day of the season for the past two years under the stewardship of Chris Turner and Monkhouse is keen for reinforcements to stop another battle against the drop. Only Evan Horwood has signed on at Victoria Park during the close season, leaving the 29-year-old former Rotherham man worried about the state of the Pools' plight. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't want any new signings. I think it is a bit of a worry," he told the Hartlepool Mail. "You turn on Sky and teams are signing all these players. "I've seen a lot of League Two teams and League One teams who don't get the 20,000 attendances signing players. "I thought we'd have signed a few but it has not happened yet. I think if you asked the gaffer he'd want a few signings so hopefully we can get a few before Saturday."
