Skysports.com understands Falkirk have agreed a deal to sign former West Brom youngster Jack Compton.
Compton has been plying his trade in the Conference South with Weston-super-Mare after leaving West Brom in the summer.
The 21-year-old has been attracting interest from a number of clubs after impressing for Weston-super-Mare and Falkirk have moved to lure the winger to Scotland.
Compton is believed to have impressed Falkirk's coaching staff during a trial at the club and he has agreed a two-year deal with the Bairns after passing a medical.
The former Portsmouth youngster has signed a pre-contract agreement and will link up with Falkirk when the transfer window reopens in January.
Falkirk's head of football development, Ross Wilson, revealed the club beat a host of sides to Compton's signature.
"We are delighted to have secured Jack's signature," Wilson told skysports.com.
"There were a number of clubs interested so we decided to move quickly to complete a deal.
"Jack has signed a pre-contract agreement and will join the club in January."
