Walsall won the battle of the top two to remain in pole position for promotion on another busy day in League Two.
Wycombe could have moved ahead of Richard Money's side with victory at The Bescot Stadium, but they fell behind when Hector Sam (pictured) netted in the 34th minute.
Mark Kinsella added another on 59 minutes to clinch a 2-0 victory for Walsall.
Lincoln moved up to second with a devastating 5-0 victory away at Barnet. Jamie Forrester scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, while Lee Beevers (38) and Leon Mettam (90) found the target as well.
Swindon also kept the pressure on leaders Walsall by comfortably beating Grimsby 3-0 at The County Ground.
Michael Pook opened the scoring for Dennis Wise's side after 33 minutes, before Andy Monkhouse (44) and Lee Peacock (88) secured the points.
Notts County were surprise 2-1 losers at home to Bristol Rovers. Junior Mendes (66) managed to level for County after Richard Walker (54) had broken the deadlock, but Lewis Haldane grabbed the winner for Rovers (67).
Peterborough edged out Shrewsbury 2-1 at London Road, with Trevor Benjamin (42) and Danny Crow (64) on the mark for Posh. Ben Davies scored a penalty (83) but The Shrews could not force an equaliser.
Wrexham's recent slump continued with a 2-1 defeat against high-flying Milton Keynes Dons. The Welsh side took the lead through Neil Roberts (20), but Martin Allen's side came roaring back courtesy of strikes from Izale McLeod (46) and Sean O'Hanlon (77).
At the bottom, Bury beat Macclesfield 3-2 at The Moss Rose to deny The Silkmen their first victory of the campaign.
Rob Scott (28) was first to strike for the home side, but Richard Baker's brace (33 and 49), together with Glynn Hurst's goal, turned the game on its head. Spencer Weir-Daley pulled one back for Macclesfield but Bury hung on for victory.
Struggling Boston collected a point against Mansfield following a 1-1 draw at The Staffsmart Stadium. Dany N'Guessan fired The Pilgrims ahead, only for Richie Barker to level in the second half (71).
Hartlepool and Stockport also drew 1-1, with Matt Robson (43) equalising after Adam Griffin (30) had given The Hatters the lead.
Torquay, taken over by Chris Roberts this week, began their new era with a 2-0 loss against Accrington. Michael Welch (47) and Gary Roberts (73) did the damage for Stanley.
Managerless Darlington claimed a point from their trip to Hereford, Alun Armstrong (37) netting for The Quakers and Tamika Mkandawire (71) for The Bulls.
In the day's final game, Rochdale and Chester played out a goalless draw at Spotland.
