Stockport boss Chris Turner has raided his old club Hartlepool to sign Gavin Strachan.

Strachan, son of Celtic manager Gordon, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Hartlepool side this term.

Turner has moved to bring in Strachan to help ease an injury crisis at Edgeley Park.

The former Coventry man will spend a month at the League Two outfit and Turner is hoping to bring in another signing before this weekend's clash with Leyton Orient.

"I know how tight the budget is and that this season was always going to be difficult financially so I'm really pleased that the club has been able to push the boat out to try and help solve this mini crisis," Turner told the club's official website.

"I'm working hard to try and complete another deal before Saturday because our supporters deserve that."
