Hartlepool United boss Neale Cooper has released four players following their heartbreaking exit from the Division Two play-offs last Wednesday.

Scott Walker, Stephen Carson, Anthony Williams and Mark Robinson have all been released from the club after their Victoria Park contracts expired at the season's end.

The quartet struggled to land a regular first team place with the North East outfit this past season and the former Ross County manager has decided to let the players move on.

Pools will remain in the Second Division after a last-minute second leg defeat to Bristol City ended their chances of reaching this Sunday's play-off final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
