FL72 - Preview: Phil Brown on the show to look ahead to weekend action

FL72 Preview: 5pm, Thurs, Sky Sports 1

We build up to the huge Sky Live Saturday lunchtime encounter between Championship title-chasing duo Leicester and Burnley on this week's FL72 - Preview.

The Foxes, who trail Sean Dyche's table-topping Burnley by one point, can make amends for surrendering their spot at the summit of the division to Brighton last weekend.

However, the Clarets will travel to the King Power Stadium full of confidence after ending their five-game wait for a win against Barnsley to capitalise on Saturday slip-ups from Leicester and fellow-title rivals QPR.

You can catch the action from 12pm on Sky Sports 1 this Saturday, but first tune in to see Simon Thomas and guest Phil Brown - who is in charge of Southend - analyse both sides' strengths and weaknesses ahead of the mouth-watering clash.

There are plenty of other fascinating battles to look forward to in the Football League this weekend, too, and here are a few highlights we'll feature in the show...

CHAMPIONSHIP:

After high flyers Leicester and Burnley do battle, Barnsley meet fellow strugglers Yeovil in a crucial duel at 3pm. We'll consider which side is in best shape to avoid the drop.

We'll also look at a fascinating market move by QPR which has seen the West London outfit recruit former Liverpool and Chelsea man Yossi Benayoun on a short-term deal ahead of their trip to Blackpool.

LEAGUE ONE:

Leyton Orient and Wolves are separated by a mere four goals at the top of England's third tier. This weekend they face a trip to Bradford and home contest against MK Dons, respectively, and, with little room for error, we'll mull over whether either side can edge ahead of the other this weekend.

We'll also ask if Notts County can follow up their 3-1 win over Gillingham last weekend with success at Colchester, as Shaun Derry's men continue their quest to move off the bottom of League One.

LEAGUE TWO:

With the top eight separated by just three points, who knows what the League Two table will look like come 5pm on Saturday evening - but top of the table Oxford will be aiming to remain in situ by taking three points from their home contest with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Brown's third-placed Southend will be optimistic of getting maximum reward from their trip to basement boys Torquay but the fixture of the weekend is surely between fifth and seventh, as Rochdale meet Fleetwood at Spotland.

Watch FL72 Preview, 5pm, Thurs, Sky Sports 1.
