Chris Neal - Port Vale
Port Vale moved above opponents Gillingham to the top of the table with an important 2-1 win at Priestfield. And with all three goals arriving in the first 21 minutes, the visitors had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping out the home team in a second-half onslaught. One moment which caught the eye was a wonderful stop to deny Charlie Lee's bullet header.
Onismor Bhasera - Plymouth
The 26-year-old Zimbabwe international was one of the stars of the show in their 2-1 win against Morecambe. The left-back was one of the standout performers to get John Sheridan's managerial tenure off to a winning start.
David Stephens - Barnet
The highly-rated Wales Under-21 defender is reportedly being chased by a number of big clubs and the towering centre-half produced another eye-catching display to help Edgar Davids' side keep a clean sheet in a surprise 2-0 win at Rotherham to edge them away from the drop zone.
Neal Trotman - Chesterfield
Transfer-listed defender Trotman helped the Spireites to a first victory in four games as they recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Northampton. The 25-year-old earned special praise from boss Paul Cook who called his performance "absolutely magnificent".
Luke Wilkinson - Dagenham & Redbridge
At just 21, he is one of the club's brightest prospects. Wilkinson produced a calm, composed and confident display as the hosts managed to hold off Rochdale thanks to a stoppage-time winner.
John-Joe O'Toole - Bristol Rovers
Bottom side Rovers enjoyed only their second away win of the season, hammering Fleetwood 3-0 and one of the stars of the show, O'Toole, completed the scoring by slamming home from just outside the box to put the icing on the cake for The Pirates.
Matty Blair - York City
The midfield maestro was instrumental in helping the Minstermen record a valuable 1-1 draw at Cheltenham. Despite going a goal behind, Blair was key in City's second half response and manager Gary Mills hailed the result as "another big point".
Sean Rigg - Oxford United
The 24-year-old helped the Us bring Bradford back down to earth following their Capital One Cup semi-final success against Aston Villa. The winger fired home a delightful equaliser at Valley Parade before Peter Leven's late winner from the spot.
Paul McCallum - AFC Wimbledon
The Dons striker bagged a brace for the relegation-threatened side, but could not prevent Wycombe from snatching a point at Kingsmeadow. His first was a close-range strike before he scored his fourth goal in three games just before half-time.
John O'Flynn - Exeter
Exeter moved up to third with a 3-0 win at home to Southend, with O'Flynn scoring either side of Scot Bennett's effort. The forward from County Cork produced an all-action display and is clearly enjoying life under manager Paul Tisdale after signing a new deal at the club in the summer.
Tom Pope - Port Vale
The new leaders were yet again indebted to in-form Tom Pope, who helped them secure victory at Gillingham. The striker was on target once again as he claimed his 26th goal of a stunning campaign, heading Adam Yates' cross home to secure all three points for the Valiants. The 27-year-old is clearly enjoying a new lease of life at Vale Park.
