Tranmere to name new boss

Tranmere have confirmed they will name their new manager on Tuesday after their 94-year stay in the Football League ends this weekend.

Rovers already know they will spend next season in non-league football following confirmation of their relegation out of League Two following last week's loss to Plymouth. Micky Adams had departed Prenton Park "via mutual consent" prior to that fixture and a temporary management team of Alan Rogers and Shaun Garnett will take charge again against Bury on Saturday. That will be their last game at the helm as the club confirmed they have already found the successor to Adams. A message posted on the club's official Twitter account read: "We look forward to making an announcement about our new manager on Tuesday!" Gary Mills was linked with the position before taking the vacancy at Wrexham while former Southport chief Gary Brabin has also been strongly tipped to take charge. Nicola Palios, wife of chairman Mark Palios, tweeted: "Announcement Tues re our new manager for next season. Very happy to have to have secured our No. 1 target. Exciting times."
