Money: We're nervous

Richard Money felt his Cambridge side did not deserve to win after Accrington secured a 2-2 draw with a late goal.

Seamus Conneely struck in injury time to deny the U's a first home win in eight league matches despite twice taking the lead through Tom Elliott and Ryan Bird. Money said: "I think the best thing we can say is that eight becomes nine (points above the relegation zone) and five games becomes four left, and it's another point towards where we want to be, but we've given up on an opportunity to put it almost mathematically to bed. "We're nervous at home. Even the comfort of being in front twice couldn't settle us. I don't think we deserved to get beaten but I think a point is all we deserved. "But we should have won the game having been in front twice. A lot of people are not thinking clearly under pressure at the key moments and we end up dropping points in a game where we shouldn't have. "We haven't been good at home since the turn of the year, or certainly since the end of January, and there is a nervousness about the place. "I think nine years out of the Football League has really taken its toll, we're in a position that we don't feel that we should have been but we've put ourselves there. If it means that we just continue to inch our way out of it then that's what we'll do, but I accept that supporters want to see us play better than that." Accrington boss John Coleman felt Conneely's late equaliser provided his side with the right reward for their performance. "I think we did deserve it," he reflected. "We played quite well and controlled the game for big periods but similarly we had a couple of spells where we let them wrestle control and we nearly got punished. Referring to Elliott's header that opened the scoring, he commented: "We could create our own Christmas video of goals we've conceded called Own Goals and Gaffes. "That's just another one along those lines, a ridiculous goal that we've conceded from no threat. The second goal is a wicked deflection but we still should be marking tighter, so we're disappointed from that aspect because in the main we did defend quite well. "I keep saying this every week. We've got good lads and when we do play and we get it down we show that we can be a handful for anyone. We had a couple of great passing moves that cut Cambridge open at times but we've got to be more clinical when we do break through."
