Cheltenham's survival hopes have been dealt a blow by the news that Kane Ferdinand has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old midfielder, on loan from Peterborough, suffered a double fracture to the cheek during a training-ground collision and may require surgery. Ferdinand joined the League Two club in November and has made 16 appearances but has failed to help the side climb away from the relegation places, with a run of six games without a win leaving Cheltenham bottom of the table but just two points from safety.
