Double blow for Hartlepool

Hartlepool have been dealt a double injury blow with both Matthew Bates and Scott Fenwick expected to be sidelined long term.

Striker Fenwick will be out of action for at least four weeks due to an ankle injury sustained against Tranmere last month. A recent MRI scan revealed the full extent of the problem and the forward has been told to rest. Bates will be out for a minimum of six weeks. The former Middlesbrough defender has also consulted a specialist after sustaining a nasty dead leg in the recent defeat at Portsmouth and tests revealed deep bleeding in his left leg.
