Accrington have completed the re-signing of striker Terry Gornell for the third time.

The 25-year-old striker was released from his contract at Cheltenham earlier on Monday and has quickly agreed an 18-month deal with Stanley. Gornell first played for the club in 2008, scoring four goals in 11 appearances during a loan spell from Tranmere. He then joined on a permanent deal for the 2010/11 season and scored 13 times in 44 games as Accy reached the play-offs. His career then took him to Shrewsbury and Rochdale, before he joined the Robins in 2013. Gornell admitted he jumped at the chance to make a return to east Lancashire. "As soon as I heard from the manager I wanted to get back up there and get it done," Gornell said. "I can't wait to get back to Accrington and get started now. "The last time I was there I left with good memories, although I thought that we were good enough to get promoted. We had a great season and hopefully we can bring those days back now."
