Cheltenham have completed the signing of forward Eliot Richards on an 18-month contract.

The 23-year-old joins from Tranmere having fallen out of favour at Prenton Park following the departure of Rob Edwards, now Cheltenham's assistant manager, with his last appearance coming in November last year. Richards began his career at Bristol Rovers where he scored 15 goals in 94 league games. He linked up with Exeter on loan towards the end of the 2013/14, turning out 17 times and scoring five goals. "I'm glad to come down here," Richards told the official club website. "Hopefully I can get hit the ground running and score some goals. "I've had to wait until this January and It's been a long period trying to get me out of there (Tranmere) but it's done and I'm happy to be here."
