Northampton defender Kelvin Langmead has left the club after having his contract terminated.

The 29-year-old first moved to Sixfields in August 2011 on a one-month loan from Peterborough before making the deal permanent. In total, Langmead made 104 appearances and scored 12 goals for Northampton but saw his career interrupted in March 2013 after suffering a serious knee injury. He returned in April 2014 but has struggled to regain a spot in the first team, turning out just 12 times since. "I think he (Langmead) has come to an agreement with the club and he'll be leaving in the next couple of days," boss Chris Wilder told the official club website. "We wish Kelvin all the best."
