Burton Albion have extended Darragh Lenihan's loan from Blackburn Rovers for another month.

Lenihan, who initially joined the Brewers on a month-long deal in October, will now remain at the Pirelli Stadium until February 7. The 20-year-old midfielder has made a big impact at the League Two club since he was signed by former manager Gary Rowett. He has made eight appearances, six of them starts. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been impressed by Lenihan since his appointment as manager in November. "He is a young boy, but he is playing as a man," Hasselbaink told the club website. "It is very important that we keep him and luckily Blackburn have given us the permission to extend it. "At the moment it is only until February 7 but hopefully we can then negotiate again."
