Dobson praises Cowan-Hall

Richard Dobson lauded Paris Cowan-Hall after he scored his fourth goal in as many games in Wycombe's 1-1 draw with Accrington.

Cowan-Hall has got five in total this season and assistant boss Dobson, who managed the side in the absence of flu-ridden boss Gareth Ainsworth, was full of praise for the winger who rifled home the opener in the ninth minute. However, Stanley equalised just four minutes into the second half when Kal Naismith's cross was headed home by West Ham loanee Sean Maguire. "Paris is lively and his tail is up at the moment," said Dobson. "He is a good player and he is becoming a game-changer. It was an excellent goal but we know he can do that." The point kept Wycombe at the top of the table but Dobson felt they could have won as they dominated the early stages. He added: "When I spoke to Gareth at the final whistle he said 'good point' but it's always disappointing when you have gone ahead. "We started really well and probably should have put the game to bed. We missed some good chances and you know, when you do this, it can come back and bite you, and it did. "To me, this is one of the best Accrington sides I have seen and so you have to be pleased with a draw at the end. "I am disappointed we conceded from a set-piece but it's another point towards our 50-point target which is the first aim. "We have had a fantastic first half of the season and the players we brought in in the summer are an absolute dream and we have to try and continue it now." Visiting goalkeeper Matt Ingram made two superb saves, somehow keeping out a Tom Aldred close-range flick and tipping over a John O'Sullivan header as Stanley, who have their eye on a play-off spot, hunted for the win. But it ended all-square, with Stanley boss John Coleman saying: "We didn't play well for the first 15 or 20 minutes and I would have taken a draw at half-time. "However, we had a word at half-time as we knew Wycombe would be a strong physical side but we went for it and got an early goal. "Their keeper has then made two world-class saves and, on another day, they might have gone in. "But, on the balance of the game, a draw is a fair result. We are four points off the play-offs and we believe we have a realistic chance of getting there. "We have to keep believing in ourselves and see where it takes us."
