David Worrall's excellent form during November has earned the Southend winger a nomination for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award.

The much-travelled 24-year-old, who has been given licence to roam by Shrimpers manager Phil Brown, has netted three goals and produced two assists while helping the Essex club reach fifth spot in the table.

The pick of Worrall’s goals was an individual run and low finish for a 65th-minute winner against Hartlepool United on November 15.

The other nominations are Nathan Doyle of Luton Town, Exeter’s Tom Nichols and Aaron O’Connor at Newport.

Doyle, a deep-lying central midfielder, has produced a series of authoritative displays for the high-flying Hatters who were a Conference club last season.

He provides the perfect shield for Luton’s back four with his ability to read play, break up opposing attacks and set team-mates free.

Meanwhile, Grecians’ striker Nichols has scored five goals from four games, and has developed an excellent partnership with Graham Cummins.

His most important strike during the month was a looping header in the 91st minute against Shrewsbury Town which earned the Devon club three points.

Forward O’Connor is enjoying his time at Newport following last season’s frustrations when injury restricted his total number of appearance to just four.

O’Connor produced the individual performance of the month with a stunning hat-trick in the 3-1 win at promotion-chasing Bury.

The winner will be announced on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning.
