Bury striker Clive Platt has been forced to retire from the game due to persistent injury problems.

The 37-year-old has called time on a 19-year career after fighting an on-off calf problem of late, which has restricted him to just a pair of substitute appearances since April. Platt made over 600 appearances, scoring well over 100 goals, for a raft of teams including Rochdale, Peterborough, MK Dons, Colchester, Coventry and Northampton.
