Chesterfield boss Paul Cook revealed his disappointment at seeing the Sky Bet League Two leaders beaten 1-0 at Wycombe.
The Chairboys had not won at Adams Park since October 12th but Max Kretzschmar's first-half penalty handed them a hard-fought victory. The Spireites stay top of the table on goal difference but they certainly had their chances in the second half. Jay O'Shea and Gareth Roberts both came close but it was not enough. "Frustrating is the word (I would use)," Cook said. "You've got to give Wycombe great credit, they worked their socks off, they competed for their lives. "Unfortunately that was as bad a performance as we've had in a long time. We've had a harsh lesson, that there's a long way to go this season, and we've got to get points out of games. That was a long way from our standards. "Some managers will blame referees but I won't have any of that; the officials played no part in our result. "We never found any tempo, we never had any chances, we were tame and inept and not good enough by any stretch of the imagination."
