Rowett purring after Albion win

Boss Gary Rowett poured praise on his Burton side after what he felt was a "fantastic" 1-0 victory at Morecambe.

On-loan Wolves winger Zeli Ismail's stunning strike, his first senior goal, from just outside the area 20 minutes from time was enough to settle a scrappy game in difficult conditions at the Globe Arena. It handed the Brewers a first win in four and moved them up to fifth place in League Two. Rowett said: "The result's fantastic and I wanted to see something that would lift our spirits. "And for an away performance at this time of the season, with the pressure we're under, to keep winning to stay in there I thought it was a really, really top performance. "We played with good control for an away side, we created one or two good opportunities in that opening period and certainly got into some fantastic positions. "We just didn't have the icing on the cake in the first half to unlock the game and the longer it went on we knew we had players who could change the game from the bench. "We've found this season the substitutes can have more of an impact than the players who start the game and we're lucky to have Zeli Ismail, Chris Hussey and Billy Kee to bring on. "And in the end it was a wonderful piece of magic from Zeli. "We're really pleased, we'll keep working hard and see where we end up."
